Sonya Rothwell x Temple Beautiful explains her transition to a plant-based diet. The Best Life Changing Plant-Based Vegan Movies You'll Ever Watch !

A single film can change the way we live. Artist Sonya Rothwell explains why she transitioned to a plant-based diet after watching 'What The Health' + a list of her top 30 vegan movies;
Several years ago I decided to eat lighter and healthier for a while cutting out meat and fish. After about a month I had a shift in consciousness, an understanding surfaced that I have no right to take another’s life, so I stuck to my vegetarian diet
Fast forward four years, my brilliant then 12 year old daughter Peony came home one day full of facts and passion, whirling about the kitchen insisting that we had to be vegan. She'd watched 'What The Health' twice (!!) and was excited about making a new empowering food choice. Thanks to Peony my eyes were opened to the environmental impact of the meat and dairy industry, so we switched to a completely plant-based diet cutting out cheese, eggs, milk and honey. We’re also moving the animal products out of our home ☆
Peony and I don't really talk about the benefits of being vegan as it pushes people in the opposite direction. Friends who spend time with us see what we eat and how healthy + energized we are, and get curious. They ask lots of questions, then try it for themselves ☆
There are so many unconscious systems to unravel. Recently I was shocked to learn that silk worms are destroyed for their delicate threads, so we’re switching to wild, non-violent Peace Silk that’s harvested after the worms have left their cocoons. The more I educate myself, the more I change my way of being, desiring to tread as gently as possible on this beautiful earth that doesn’t belong to us – we’re merely temporary guest. With love and respect I choose to take responsibility for my part, hoping to leave Mother Gaia as I found her with all her beauty intact
